Homestead Toll Plaza Express Lanes Laser Scanning

This fast-tracked project included roadway improvements, the partial demolition and reconstruction of the existing toll plaza traffic canopy, and construction of a new administration building, parking lot, generator/storage building and gantry structure. WGI provided design survey and utility designating services for all improvements.

High definition laser scanning was used to provide a precise detailed as-built of the toll plaza facility while keeping personnel safely out of the traffic lanes. Laser scanning provides a three-dimensional “point cloud” using LiDAR technology to produce extensive detail of the existing conditions. This information was then modeled and provided to the engineer for the design documents.
