This project consisted of analysis and design to convert an existing grassed ditch to an articulating concrete block-lined facility. The existing grassed ditch was subject to frequent flooding due to flushed grass clippings that clogged the ditch bottom inlet at the outfall. A critical aspect of this project was to maintain stormwater conveyance during construction.
The project was completed on time and within budget, giving the FDOT and Broward County a higher level of flood protection during significant storm events, with reduced soil erosion and sedimentation potential.
