The Datura Hotel and Residences is a mixed-use project being developed by Linéaire Group, along with partners Capstone Equities and Max Ducharme.
The 20-story tower, designed by Corwil Architects, will total 232,370 square feet, with a 132 room boutique hotel, 180 multifamily units, 2,457 square feet of retail, and a six-level parking garage with 275 spaces.
It will be located on the west side of the Brightline passenger rail station in West Palm Beach, Florida, and will soon welcome visitors to the city, after receiving unanimous approval from the West Palm Beach Downtown Action Committee earlier this month.
WGI provided a full scope of services for this project including Landscape Architecture, Environmental Services, Traffic Engineering, Civil Engineering and MEP Engineering. We will also be providing construction phase services when the project breaks ground in 2022.
The flowy form of the architectural fenestration renders a modern atmosphere, at the same time serving to screen the lower-level garages. Extensive living green walls will be constructed on the ground level, maximizing plant material in a constrained urban space, and a guest drop-off and pick-up space will be designated specifically for rideshare services.
WGI is providing 2 elevated garden and amenity levels (shown in progress sketches below):
7th level garden deck
Palm trees will be planted following the architectural grid, creating a formal and modern atmosphere. A contemporary art piece will be the main focal point when hotel guests enter the garden space, connected with a linear water feature, forming an outdoor party and event center. Layered tropical plants will be strategically placed in ways that create private seating pockets.
Rooftop Pool Deck
A 70 x 20 foot sleek pool will be positioned to have an open view of northern downtown. Sculptural shade trees will be placed adjacent to architectural façade, creating a grand entry experience to the breathtaking deck space. Near the food and beverage area, under a free formed pavilion structure, comfortable seating will be aligned facing the Brightline station, divided by small planters to create privacy.
Our streetscape and deck level landscape design was executed closely with the developer and the architect, dedicated to carrying out a similar form and style while also meeting the city’s stringent code requirements.
