A Day in the Life of a Construction Graduate Engineer

In this installment of our “A Day in the Life” video series, we got to tag along with Arturo Aguilar, a graduate engineer based in our Austin, TX office.

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be a Construction Graduate Engineer? Maybe even wondered what it’s like to visit a project site while it’s still under construction?

In this installment of our “A Day in the Life” series, we got to follow Arturo Aguilar, as he showed us what a typical day in his life is like as a Construction Graduate Engineer. Arturo is a part of our Civil Engineering division and is based in our Austin, Texas office.

In this video, we catch a glimpse into the Austin, TX office and get to see Arturo’s desk and some of his team.  Arturo also took us out into the field to visit two of the projects he is working on – one of them is a nature-immersion summer camp on the outskirts of Austin, and the other is smack dab in the middle of downtown and is poised to be one of the tallest buildings in Austin. (Make sure to watch the entire video for a gorgeous view of the downtown skyline). Arturo finished his day by going to happy hour with some of his co-workers to celebrate the end of a successful day.

Check out Arturo’s day here!

Arturo graduated from The University of Texas at Austin where he obtained his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. He is specialized in reinforced concrete projects ranging from high-rise office buildings to sports arenas. Arturo’s role At WGI involves helping supply Austin’s growing demand for land development expansion involving multifamily, mixed-use, retail, and office use projects.
