The Green Street Parking Structure was constructed in 1975 and was divided into three sections by expansion joints. The three-section structure provides street-level parking with 61 spaces and two supported parking levels with 437 spaces. A double-threaded helix was located on the east end of the structure and a partial helix on the west end.
WGI completed a comprehensive condition review that included excavations of post-tensioned slabs. It was determined that the center section and the two helix ramps should be demolished; the two outside sections of the structure were restored, and the middle section was replaced with a ramping system. WGI provided structural engineering for the new construction, including foundations and superstructure. WGI’s Restoration Team developed drawings and specifications for the East and West Section restoration. Repairs included: concrete repairs, slab post-tensioning repairs, sealants, deck coatings, installation of bumper guards, and strengthening of precast connections.
