WGI is providing several services for the City of San Antonio on multiple projects as the prime consultant. WGI’s project management and coordination with subconsultants and support staff make WGI a valued partner for this exciting initiative. The enhancement and redevelopment of these spaces will improve residents’ and visitors’ enjoyment. WGI’s partnered projects with the City include:
- District 5 Parks – WGI will provide landscape architecture, civil engineering, surveying, community engagement, and graphic design services to improve and rehabilitate park facilities for the following parks:

- Escobar Park – The potential program includes providing shade for handball courts.
- Kennedy Park – The potential program includes lighting upgrades and a dog park.
- Alderete Park – The potential program includes new playground surfacing, shade, and coordination with a trail project.
- Tejeda Park – The potential program includes shading the existing basketball courts, a playground, and a splash pad.
- Pickwell Park – The potential program includes shade enhancements and rehabilitating a sports court. The program also includes new tree planting and irrigation to meet the City’s sustainability goals. WGI’s services include landscape architecture, civil engineering, community engagement, surveying, graphic design, utility coordination, and estimating/constructability.
- Main Plaza Rehabilitation – The proposed program includes rehabilitation and improvements to the historic Main Plaza in downtown San Antonio, including stabilizing five plaza fountains, creating a master plan for the space, and Phase 1 construction of the master plan. WGI’s services include landscape architecture, civil engineering, stakeholder coordination, project management, utility coordination, and estimating/constructability.
- Monterrey Park – The potential program includes a new splash pad and other new recreational amenities, such as a pickleball court. WGI’s scope provides landscape architecture, community engagement, civil engineering, surveying, and project management.
