The Denver News Agency tower provides 320,000 square feet of class “A” office space for the Denver Newspaper Agency, which publishes The Denver Post and Rocky Mountain News. Located on Colfax Avenue in downtown Denver, the 11-story building occupies a prominent site in the Civic Center. The building was designed with 692 parking spaces on three levels above grade and two levels underground. Parking is all on flat floors, with express ramps between floors. In addition to the on-site, secured parking, other building amenities include a 230-seat auditorium, conference center, photo studios, fitness facilities, two restaurants, a coffee shop, and extensive balconies on the 6th and 10th floor overlooking Civic Center Park, City Hall, and the State Capitol.
WGI provided design and consulting services for the parking areas of the building, including parking space layout, vehicle and pedestrian traffic circulation, ADA accessibility, ramp configuration, entry and exit lane configurations, signage and wayfinding, passive security design, and access and revenue control system specification. Additionally, WGI provided recommendations for drainage, waterproofing, and durability features for the parking floors, as well as lighting and plumbing design.
