WGI has worked with GRCC for three decades, helping the College preserve and renovate their parking structures. Beginning in the 1990s, WGI has conducted structural evaluations of the Lyon Street and Bostwick structures, prepared construction documents, and overseen the implementation of repairs and maintenance.

Design services have been provided every three years, including; evaluations, construction documents, and construction administration. Repairs have included:

• Concrete repairs
• Post-tensioning
• Expansion Joint
• Deck coating

At GRCC’s Lyon Street garage, a suspected alkali-silica reaction (ASR) was noted in the wall panels during the evaluation phase. The condition was tested and confirmed. The condition was treated with lithium compound and waterproofing to manage the spread and limit deterioration as part of that year’s repair program.
