WGI provided a full suite of environmental services for a 38-acre property that has historically been utilized for agricultural purposes. This property required careful evaluation to assess its environmental viability and to comply with regulatory standards.
In collaboration with Palm Beach County’s Environmental Resource Management division, WGI obtained the necessary permits to address potential impacts on the site’s natural resources. This process involved a comprehensive wetland delineation, tree inventory, and wildlife survey. WGI’s team of expert arborists and environmental scientists meticulously surveyed the entire property for protected species, inventoried and speciated over 200 trees, and delineated wetlands and several surface water features across the property. The surveys were conducted with precision and efficiency, ensuring that all environmental aspects were thoroughly documented and evaluated. The wetland delineation helped in understanding the hydrological dynamics of the site, which is crucial for maintaining the ecological balance and for planning any future developments. Through coordination with the environmental team, a 3-acre wetland preserve was established to protect the cypress dome which had been overridden with invasive Melaleuca trees. The wetland preservation area focused on the eradication of the invasive species and the re-establishment of Florida native species to restore the cypress dome. WGI worked closely with Environmental Services Unlimited (ESU) on the management plan to remove the invasive species. The wildlife survey ensured that any protected species were identified and considered in the land use planning process.
WGI’s ability to successfully conduct these types of surveys, land management planning, and reporting is essential for sustainable land management and regulatory compliance. By providing accurate and comprehensive environmental assessments, WGI supports responsible development practices that protect and enhance natural resources, ensuring that projects align with environmental regulations, lawful use of herbicides and pesticide application within conservation areas, and contribute to long-term ecological sustainability.
