WGI was selected as the consultant program manager to coordinate and design convenience facilities for the freight industry along the federal highway systems across the continental United States. These facilities will be entirely served by alternative energy and allow truck drivers places of rest and recreation along their drive routes. These facilities will provide charging station infrastructure for an evolving power supply source, entirely off the electric grid. The rest area facilities will consist of highly secured IT/fiber infrastructure, retail and commercial food amenities, and restrooms. Other components of the designs include alternative energy-sourced power generation based on location, as well as e-commerce and delivery amenities coordinated with supply chain vendors. WGI is also coordinating the client’s GIS information and proposed project locations into an organized data source for efficiency in public engagement and permitting operations.
As part of the overall program, WGI was first engaged to provide architectural design services and develop a protype facility with enhanced branding graphics, photo-realistic static visualizations, and high-resolution video animations for the client to leverage as part of their marketing campaign, nationally televised commercial spots, federal and state government support, business planning, and investment sourcing. WGI utilized the latest in BIM and visualization technology to develop all content.
