WGI was hired to assist with burrowing owls onsite while constructing two separate but adjacent development projects, a new credit union, and a town center in Cooper City, Florida. After completing an initial burrow survey, WGI staff identified options for mitigation and developed relocation plans, and coordinated with FWC to obtain the necessary Migratory Bird Relocation permits. Construction of the projects occurred over two years. WGI provided monitoring support, including bi-weekly site visits through the nesting season, to ensure compliance and allow development to progress on schedule.
