Schneck Medical Center is undergoing a major expansion focused on providing enhanced access to medical and specialist care—fulfilling its mission to improve the health of the communities it serves.
The multi-year, multi-phase expansion will be built on the northwest side of the main campus along Tipton Street and will include a five-story medical office building and a parking garage. Completion of the project is expected in 2019. Additional surgical areas will also be developed within the main hospital to better serve patients. WGI is currently leading the structural engineering and parking consulting services for this project.
The additions are being made with the community in mind. In 2015, Schneck conducted a community health needs assessment, which included input from patients, community members, community leaders, and Schneck volunteers, staff, physicians, and other medical professionals. This assessment indicated access to healthcare is a barrier throughout the region with almost 40 percent of the service area experiencing difficulties or delays in receiving needed healthcare.
