The South Florida Water Management District (District) G-261, G-262, and G-263 structures are located along the southwestern boundary of the Dupuis Management Area (Dupuis) in Palm Beach County, Florida. These structures control surface water discharge from Dupuis to the L-8 Canal.
The entire Dupuis Management Area spans two District-defined Watersheds, the L-8, and the C-44. The portion of Dupuis that is within the L-8 Watershed is a District-defined Sub-Watershed named Dupuis. This Sub-Watershed is comprised of approximately 17,357 acres of multi-use natural area. The Project structures discharge water from this portion of Dupuis to the L-8 Canal.
SFWMD required the Project be designed to satisfy the USACE standards.
WGI provided the structural design for the replacement structures, which included cofferdam and sheet pile cutoff walls, inlet structure with stop log support, maintenance catwalk, and culvert headwalls for four (4) parallel 72” discharge pipes through the L-8 levee.
