WGI PROJECT
Submerged Aquatic Vegetation (SAV) Survey Along Marine Way
Project Description
WGI conducted a Submerged Aquatic Vegetation (SAV) Survey and wetland assessment for the City of Delray Beach to determine the permitting requirements and challenges for the relocation of the adjacent roadway, sidewalk, and docks along Marine Way. WGI performed an underwater dive along the seawall to determine the presence and location of seagrasses, mangroves and other environmentally sensitive vegetation.
Based on the findings of the SAV study, WGI’s environmental scientists and engineers were able to make recommendations to the City for the location of the proposed docks, sidewalks and roadway, as well as how to expedite the permitting process through the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Florida Inland Navigation District, and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection utilizing avoidance and mitigation techniques.
