For nearly a decade, WGI has held a master contract with a local Texas grocery company to build and expand their stores. During that time, WGI has provided a wide range on engineering services in locations across Central and East Texas for land acquisitions, new store construction, and large and small renovations. WGI has provided services to fit each job and coordinated with the construction leaders within the company to evaluate those services on a case by case basis.
Services have included: due diligence, survey, platting, zoning, master planning, utility planning, drainage planning, traffic and access planning, civil engineering design, utility design, grading, cut/fill balancing, water quality and detention design, traffic impact analysis, roadway design, intersection design, pump design, lift station design, dry utility design, MEP design, lighting planning and design, municipal coordination, TxDOT permitting, TCEQ permitting, Corps. of Engineers permitting, construction administration, construction management, and as-built design.
Projects have included ground-up stores that average 110,000 square feet and include retail, drive through, and dry storage delivery, and range from $45M-$60M; renovations from 10,000 square feet to 30,000 square feet and $2M-$30M; and parking lot reconstruction or expansion from $150K-$2M. Most projects, particularly renovations, are completed in tight compliance with accelerated timelines and direct coordination with the contractor to ensure the fastest open and least disruption possible.
