Established in 1899 and known for its Spanish Colonial architecture, Texas State University-San Marcos wanted to build a new parking structure that complemented the existing buildings located on the west end of campus.
To help the university achieve this goal, WGI designed this attractive 735-space parking structure that features clay tile roofs, brick masonry and a stone masonry base.
This new facility sits adjacent to the West Campus athletic fields as well as the Student Recreation Center.
Adding complexity to the design, the Speck Street Parking Structure was built into a hill adjacent to the sloping Speck Street. Entry/exits at different levels take advantage of the topography. Two adjacent bus stops provide an intermodal link to the rest of the campus.
