The St. John is a collection of apartment homes located south of Downtown San Antonio and within walking distance of the San Antonio River. The apartments were built within the former St. John’s Seminary, as part of Mission DG’s efforts to redevelop and transform this rapidly deteriorating 13.6-acre former campus. Three original historic buildings on the property were preserved and revitalized, while four new buildings were added, providing a total of 228 new residential units.

WGI provided Civil Engineering services for this project, coordinating with the developer and land owner to redevelop this historic site into a multifamily development. Services included obtaining entitlements, permitting & design, preparation of new construction documents for garden style multifamily, incorporating historic buildings into the site plan, and coordination with City staff on the mitigation and preservation of an acequia discovered onsite.

The project is Energy Star certified, LEED Certified & has received a NAHB Green Certification.
