Trail Creek is a 50-acre residential development in New Braunfels that will provide approximately 300 multi-family units and 185 single-family homes. WGI lead the master planning of the 50-acre site to maximize land use for multi-family, singlefamily, drainage, and open space. WGI provided engineering services, including site and master planning, and facilitated a zoning change to accommodate the desired density, plan and profile design of public streets, water, and sanitary sewer infrastructure. The development required a high level of coordination between TxDOT and City staff for traffic analysis, access connections, and traffic mitigation. Additionally, WGI designed a 2,000-linear-foot, 135-foot-wide drainage channel to convey offsite stormwater drainage through the site. The scale of offsite drainage conveyed through the site made site planning particularly important to maximize buildable areas while minimizing roadway crossings of the drainage channel. WGI also designed approximately 4,000 linear feet of hike and bike trails through the site that connect to adjacent developments and extend the City of New Braunfels trail master plan route. WGI’s design team met the project schedules for design and permitting and had close coordination during the bidding phase.
