This downtown revitalization/beautification project repurposed the existing brick paver roadway, adding two 10-foot-wide driving lanes, an 8-foot parallel parking lane along the north side of the street, a 15-foot-wide sidewalk from buildings to a new flush curb on both sides of the street, and removable bollards on both ends of the street. The project also included landscaping enhancements, lighting enhancements, and irrigation. This project is part of the Green Cove Springs downtown revitalization master plan to support business development. The project created a versatile, pedestrian-friendly corridor in the heart of downtown Green Cove Springs.
WGI was responsible for all aspects of the design including survey, permitting, landscape/irrigation and hardscape architecture, signals, signing and pavement marking, roadway, and drainage. Post-design services included developing punch list items and conducting contractor progress meetings.
