Gary Lawrence Director, Sustainable and Resilient Strategies is responsible for assisting WGI and its clients reduce their carbon footprint by adapting to the changing social, environmental, and economic conditions that result from the local expressions of changing weather. Specifically, Gary works with WGI associates and clients to introduce strategies promoting Sustainability, Resiliency, and Adaptation (SRA) into infrastructure planning and design.

Prior to joining WGI, Gary was President of Advocates for a Better Future, Chief Sustainability Officer at AECOM, Global Leader for Urban Strategy at Arup, and a consultant on matters of urbanization to the UN, OECD, US government agencies, and many national governments and global cities.

Gary is a student for how the critical SRA issues of our time are perceived within different cultures, economic groups, and sectors, with a focus on the practices that allow for groups to succeed together rather than lose by trying to win alone.
