Event Recap: RECA KnockOut Night 2026

Discover how WGI strengthened industry connections at RECA KnockOut Night 2026, where our team engaged with clients and peers in Austin’s unique blend of networking, fundraising, and amateur boxing.

At WGI, building strong infrastructure starts with building strong relationships. Recently, members of our team attended RECA KnockOut Night 2026, one of Austin’s largest commercial real estate gatherings. The event provided a unique opportunity to connect with clients, collaborators, and industry peers in an environment that combines professional networking with engaging entertainment.

For our associates, the evening was a fantastic chance to strengthen relationships, meet new partners, and engage with the Austin real estate community in a relaxed and enjoyable setting.

A Unique Industry Event

Hosted by the Real Estate Council of Austin (RECA), KnockOut Night is the organization’s premier annual fundraising event, drawing more than 1,800 commercial real estate professionals each year. This year, WGI team members attended and experienced the event’s distinctive combination of networking and entertainment, including amateur boxing matches featuring RECA members who train for months leading up to the event.

For our team, the mix of a black-tie setting with the energy of the matches created a welcoming space to connect with clients, partners, and new industry contacts. The dinner and networking time allowed our associates to build and strengthen relationships, while the boxing matches offered a memorable way to engage with colleagues outside of the usual work context.

Beyond the entertainment, WGI was proud to participate in an event that supports RECA’s mission to advance the Austin real estate industry. Our team’s presence contributed to fundraising efforts benefiting local nonprofits and initiatives, reflecting WGI’s commitment to both professional engagement and community support.

Building Connections Across the Industry

KnockOut Night offered WGI associates the chance to step out of day-to-day project work and engage with a broad cross-section of professionals. From developers and architects to consultants and contractors, the event provided an opportunity to meet new people, reconnect with familiar faces, and strengthen partnerships that can lead to future collaboration.

For our team members attending for the first time, the experience reinforced the value of being present and actively participating in the industry community. By engaging in conversations outside of formal project settings, they were able to deepen professional connections and gain insight into trends shaping Austin’s commercial real estate market.

After the event, several WGI associates and clients continued networking at local venues, further strengthening relationships in a relaxed setting. These moments of informal connection often become some of the most valuable, allowing colleagues to share experiences, discuss industry trends, and create opportunities for future collaboration.
