The City of Loveland is located in Northern Colorado and is internationally known for its art, bronze foundries, and sculpture exhibitions.
Situated in downtown Loveland is The Foundry, a $75 million mixed-use development featuring restaurants, a hotel, a salon, a dine-in movie theatre, apartments, convenient parking, and a central plaza. The Foundry provides a safe, dynamic environment where community members can gather and enjoy the vibrant downtown area.
The Foundry Development project began in 2016 and celebrated its grand opening in 2019. Three underutilized city blocks in the heart of Loveland’s historic downtown were transformed to include:Â Â
With outdoor walkways and seating between the buildings, the project turned Downtown Loveland into a true entertainment destination for visitors and residents.
DAAS, an international muralist, painted a powerful mural on the parking structure in the downtown area and titled the piece, “My Favorite Things“. The inspiration behind the mural was to depict the uniqueness of the City through artwork.
WGI provided parking consulting, structural engineering, and design services for The Foundry Parking Garage. The 461-space precast concrete parking garage consists of 5-levels of P3-funded public parking with private underground residential parking beneath.Â
In addition to the parking layout, circulation, wayfinding, and access control, WGI also designed the waterproofing and durability aspects of the parking garage.
Fun Fact, in 2020, Downtown Colorado Inc. awarded The Foundry the Governor’s Award for Downtown Excellence.
