Ajax Lake Wales Batch Plant was part of an overall 54-acre orange grove that was developed into a Florida Central asphalt production plant. Approximately 37 acres of the property were used for the plant, storage area, wet detention, and the supporting road infrastructure. The civil improvements included over 2,600 linear-feet of paved access road, plant area, parking lot, wells, septic field, and gravel access storage area. This site location was picked by the owner to support pavement projects within central Florida.
• WGI provided land entitlements with Polk County including the Level 3 planning and Level 2 construction plan process.
• Storm water management was key for the site design including large bio-swales for pollutant removal and filtration of containments.
