Working in conjunction with established community advocates, Quantum Foundation partnered with WGI to create a master plan for the Coleman Park Neighborhood. The plan continued where the 2009 Coleman Neighborhood Improvement Plan left off and provided steps for the implementation of the current community vision. The master plan developed is intended to be a guiding document for stakeholder and capital investment in the neighborhood in a way that respects the community’s vision. The plan used the established goals of Purpose-Built Communities which are health & wellness, cradle-to-career education, economic vitality, and mixed-income housing.
Key services provided include conducting interviews with key stakeholders who have specific knowledge of the community, developing a shared vision of the neighborhood, collecting and analyzing GIS data to gain an understanding of the current neighborhood fabric, identifying short-term and long-term goals, and identifying projects and next steps to accomplish the established goals.
The history of Coleman Park is rich and dynamic. The development of an updated neighborhood master plan will help to create a vibrant Coleman Park community that honors its history and expands opportunities for existing and future residents.
