St. Johns County awarded WGI this 5-year continuing contract for as-needed professional surveying services to provide boundary, topographic, as-built, construction layout, control, hydrographic/bathymetric, quantity, and photogrammetric surveys, as well as roadway maintenance maps and other geospatial services. Below are some of the completed tasks performed to date:
DS-1 Force Main to Players Club WWTF Route Survey – WGI provided survey and SUE services to support the design of approximately 11,200 linear feet of force main along A1A near Sawgrass Village. This work included using terrestrial mobile lidar to capture a detailed 3D model of the roadway corridor and significant drainage features along it. The data was combined to create a comprehensive 3D digital terrain model of the corridor. Underground utilities were then designated along the entire length of the corridor using ground-penetrating radar and electromagnetic-sounding devices for Level B designations. The design team identified approximately 50 conflicting utilities, on which WGI conducted soft digs to verify the depth, size, type, and material of each conflict.
Silverleaf Fire Stations Surveys – WGI provided comprehensive survey services to support the design and development of an approximately 8-acre undeveloped site designated for the future construction of a fire station. Located along St. Johns Parkway near Silverleaf, this project involved establishing precise survey control throughout the site. WGI performed a detailed topographic survey of both the subject parcel and its surrounding areas to capture essential features and elevation data. Additionally, a thorough boundary survey was conducted to accurately define the parcel’s limits, ensuring precise data for the design and construction phases. These survey efforts were crucial in providing the design team with accurate site conditions for planning and development.
