Located in West Houston’s District G, near the intersection of South Gessner Road and Ella Lee Lane, this project showcases the owner’s dedication to providing affordable and special needs housing nationwide, alongside WGI’s commitment to creatively transforming the way our world is envisioned, designed, and experienced. In partnership with DMA Companies, WGI began this endeavor in 2021, engineering and designing a four-story, 128-unit senior living apartment complex in the City of Houston. As the civil engineer, WGI played a crucial role in securing permits for site development and public utility connections, coordinating extensively with CenterPoint Energy, and AT&T to ensure seamless utility integration. A key highlight of this project is the innovative incorporation of 125,000 cubic feet of underground detention on-site, reflecting WGI’s cutting-edge engineering solutions. The team’s close collaboration with reviewers and their ability to adapt quickly to significant site changes were instrumental in navigating the permitting process successfully. With the project nearing completion, it is on track to be move-in ready by Spring 2025.
