Bridge No. 290082 (I-75 Southbound over US 441) was struck by a truck which damaged the two outermost beams (3-10 & 3-11) and therefore required an emergency replacement. The contract time was set for 45 days and included design, procurement of material, construction, and shop drawing reviews. The design schedule was achieved within 12 days from notice to proceed, leaving 30 days for construction. The contractor was awarded an incentive for early completion. WGI’s structure work consisted of beam deck and diaphragm designs; spall repairs; joint sealing; deck grooving; and final bridge load rating. WGI provided maintenance of traffic control plans within three days of notice to proceed and final roadway plans and signing and pavement marking within 12 days.
