Lake Worth Drainage District (LWDD) engaged engineering services to replace the outfall structure at the confluence of LWDD Canal E-1 W-S and the SFWMD Hillsboro Canal. WGI provided the necessary structural engineering services for two (2) 100-foot long box culvert crossings, headwalls, and associated erosion protection at the headwall to canal interface. WGI also provided construction services, including shop drawing reviews of FDOT box culvert, concrete, and steel reinforcement, responded to contractor Requests for Information (RFI’s), site visits to observe foundation preparation, precast box culvert placement, joint grouting, and joint protection, headwall reinforcing steel placement, headwall formwork, and concrete placement, final inspection before backfill, transmittal of all field reports and photographs to the client, and provided a final certification upon completion of the project.
