WGI’s Structures Division provided the design phase services and construction inspections for the structure modifications Lake Worth Drainage District desired to enclose the existing pumps to protect them from the elements and reduce maintenance costs.
In addition, the enclosures provide noise abatement for the nearby residents. Precast concrete panels were utilized to house the pumps. New structural steel sheet piles with a concrete pile cap revitalized the intake and discharge bays.
