On October 15, 2014, an extreme rain event occurred in Palm Beach. As a result, the Mar-a-Lago property was flooded. The flooding caused the existing seawall (constructed initially during the Meriwether-Post occupation of the residence) to fail along the southern section. WGI was contracted to design the reconstruction for the wall. Due to the historical significance of the property, the proposed design had to match the existing aesthetic. This was accomplished with Steel H Piles (due to the underlying limestone), precast concrete panels, and a facing wall to match the remaining walls adjacent to the failed area.
