WGI was selected to provide civil engineering design, bid, construction, and permitting services for a 78-acre subdivision with shared greenspaces, three subdivision roadways, shared amenities and utility infrastructure required to serve the development. Design improvements also included a recreational trail to provide access for residents to a greenspace in the neighborhood allowing direct Guadalupe River access.
The project included new water infrastructure to serve the residential lots, shared use lots, amenity center, and irrigation for parkways and greenspaces. WGI designed 4,640 LF of new 6” and 8” PVC and DI waterlines, including new services, fire hydrants and backflow devices to protect the system. Redundant connections were made into the CLWSC system, so we coordinated with CLWSC personnel during design to ensure proper routing and connections were made. Coordination with Comal County and PEC and plan approvals were also required prior to completing design and construction.
The project consisted of a drainage design and SWPPP design over the Edwards Aquifer Contributing Zone, which required permitting approvals through TCEQ. The design team was engaged from planning, through design, bid and construction phases and assisted with successfully delivering the project.
