The scope of work consists of preserving and extending the life of the existing roadway facility. Improvements include milling and resurfacing of existing lanes and shoulders. This project also provides signing and pavement marking, intersection improvements, ADA improvements, new sidewalks on both sides of the roadway, and drainage work. All work shall be completed within the existing right-of-way.
The existing intersection at Orient Road will be realigned and upgraded to a mast arm traffic signal. For the current 78th Street traffic signal, the design team will update the pedestrian signals per ADA requirements, replace the internally illuminated street name signs, add/replace backplates with flexible type, replace/ update the vehicular detection, and update the pedestrian and yellow/all red vehicular clearance timings.
