This project involved 3R improvements to SR 76 from the south fork of the St. Lucie River to SW Cabana Point Circle. SR 76 within this section is an urban 4-lane divided 45 mph facility located in eastern Martin County and serves as a hurricane evacuation route. Engineering services included developing construction plans and specifications for ADA upgrades, landscaping, pavement markings, pedestrian signal improvements, extensive sign upgrades to conform to the 2009 MUTCD, and milling and resurfacing of the project limits.
Utility coordination efforts included utility contacts, records research, preparation of the utility conflict matrix, meetings with the utility agencies, and a review of the utility work schedules and agreements necessary for letting. Services also included utility locating services, coordinating the utility field test-hole locations, providing utility verification at potential conflict areas, including signal mast arm locations and drainage structures, coordination of field SUE/Survey services, a review of the collected data ensuring the results adequately addressed the concern, and the preparation of the CADD files, plan and verified utility sheets.
