Project consisted of design of new bridges at sites 8 and 9. Site 8 consisted of dual bridges on I-840 over North Elm Street. The dual one-span bridges on a curved horizontal alignment utilized 63-inch modified bulb tee prestressed concrete girders. The substructure consisted of end abutments on a spread footing behind mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) walls. Site 9 included a two-span bridge on Lake Jeanette Rd. over I-840 that utilized 63-inch modified bulb tee prestressed concrete girders. The substructure consisted of end bents on steel piles and a post-and-beam interior bent on steel pile footings.
