WGI PROJECT
Waterloo Park
Project Description
Waterloo Park is the first link in a chain of parks within the newly created Waterloo Greenway district – a district of newly designed and connected urban parks, public open spaces, and trails that is being spearheaded by the Waterloo Greenway Conservancy and the City of Austin.
The 11 acre park is the largest of all the parks within the system and features a variety of spaces that reflect the landscapes of Austin and Central Texas. With more than a mile and a half of hike-and-bike trails, an elevated promenade featuring local food trucks, custom-built nature-based playscapes, and multiple native gardens and wetland spaces, this urban oasis offers something for everyone who comes to explore the reinvigorated green space.
The crown jewel of the park is the brand new 5000-seat Moody Amphitheater designed by Thomas Phifer and Partners, which the entire park is centered around.
WGI provided civil engineering and land development consulting services for this project, including the site plan permitting and design for the utilities and drainage systems.
