Waterloo Park will include a variety of spaces that reflect the landscapes of Austin and Central Texas, including hill country gardens with oaks and native plantings, wetland spaces that create places for play and relaxation, expansive lawns for gathering and activities, and more than a mile and a half of trails within the park.
Waterloo Park is the largest park in the newly created Waterloo Greenway district – a district of newly designed and connected urban parks, public open spaces, and trails that is being spearheaded by the Waterloo Greenway Conservancy and the City of Austin.
WGI is providing civil engineering services for Waterloo Park as well as the overall Waterloo Greenway parks district.
The crown jewel of the park is the brand new 5000-seat Moody Amphitheater designed by Thomas Phifer and Partners, which the entire park is centered around.
