WGI is pleased to announce it acquired Texas-based BIG RED DOG, INC. (BRD), a firm with a reputation in the industry for intelligent disruption, and a leading provider of civil, MEP, structural, traffic, and transportation engineering for public and private clients.
Shad Shafie, PE joins WGI as VP of Structural Solutions
Shad joins us with over 25 years of experience and a BS in Architectural Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin. He has a PE in several states including FL and TX, and has lived and worked most of his career in both states. Shad will be based in our San Antonio office, leading a division that includes Structures, Parking, and Restoration.
For 19 years, Shad was VP and Operations Manager for Architecture and Buildings Engineering at an ENR 500 firm where he was responsible for over 130 employees in seven offices including Architects, Planners, Interior Designers, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Life Safety, Sustainable, RCDD, Commissioning, Retro-Commissioning, and Structural Engineers.
The addition of Shad to the WGI team allows us to better leverage the tremendous talent within our diverse areas of structural expertise that currently encompasses several departments. This strategic move has been contemplated for months, and we are now able to complete an organizational alignment that better serves our clients, cross-trains our associates, balances work, and improves operations. The benefits are numerous. As an example, WGI’s significant talents in Parking will now better leverage a much larger team of structural designers across a broad geographic platform, enhancing delivery and client services.
You can contact Shad at our San Antonio office (210.860.9224), or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
