WGI is proud to announce that Coriann Salas, PE, Vice President of Corporate Services, has been named President of the American Council of Engineering Companies of Florida (ACEC-FL), one of the engineering profession’s most influential leadership roles in the state.

As President, Coriann will lead the organization’s efforts to advocate for Florida’s private-practice consulting engineering industry, representing more than 350 member firms before state legislators, government agencies, and industry stakeholders. She will guide strategic initiatives that influence infrastructure investment, procurement practices, risk management, and policies that shape the future of engineering throughout Florida.

Her appointment reflects not only a distinguished career in engineering and executive leadership, but also a longstanding commitment to advancing the profession through service and collaboration.

“After more than ten years with ACEC-FL, I couldn’t be more excited to serve as President and help strengthen the voice and influence of engineering across Florida.” – Coriann Salas

A Career Built on Engineering Excellence

Coriann’s career spans more than two decades, beginning in structural engineering and evolving into executive leadership. Before joining WGI’s executive team, she served as Engineer of Record, Project Manager, and Lead Engineer on a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects throughout Florida.

Her technical experience includes the design, evaluation, and rehabilitation of bridges, marine structures, retaining walls, pedestrian facilities, foundations, and other complex transportation infrastructure for state agencies, local governments, and private clients. She has successfully delivered projects using both traditional and design-build delivery methods while leading multidisciplinary teams through every phase of project development.

This foundation as a practicing engineer continues to influence her leadership style today.

Leading Through Strategy and People

As Vice President of Corporate Services, Coriann leads WGI’s enterprise functions, including human resources, corporate operations, and organizational strategy. As part of WGI’s executive leadership team, Coriann works to strengthen organizational performance, support strategic expansion efforts, and advance initiatives that position WGI for long-term growth.

Her engineering background brings a systems-thinking approach to corporate leadership that aligns people, processes, and strategy to build a stronger organization while supporting WGI’s continued growth.

Advancing Florida’s Engineering Profession

ACEC Florida serves as the leading advocate for consulting engineering firms across the state, promoting policies that strengthen Florida’s infrastructure, encourage innovation, and support the business of engineering.

As President, Coriann will chair the Executive Committee, lead the Board of Directors, and serve as the organization’s primary voice on legislative and industry issues. She will work alongside engineering leaders from across Florida to help guide the profession through evolving challenges and opportunities while advocating for sound public policy and investment in infrastructure.

Her leadership comes at a time when Florida continues to experience unprecedented growth, increasing demand for resilient infrastructure, and rapidly evolving transportation and community development needs.

WGI’s Commitment to Industry Leadership

At WGI, leadership extends beyond the projects we deliver. We believe active participation in professional organizations helps strengthen our industry, improve the communities we serve, and create opportunities for future engineers.

Coriann’s appointment as President of ACEC Florida reflects that commitment. Her leadership will help shape conversations around infrastructure, policy, and the future of engineering while reinforcing WGI’s dedication to professional excellence and industry service.

Please join us in congratulating Coriann Salas on this outstanding achievement. We look forward to the impact she will make as President of ACEC Florida and to supporting her as she leads one of the state’s most respected engineering organizations.
