In a night filled with prestige and recognition, our West Palm Beach Civil Engineering Department, an integral part of the WGI family, witnessed the crowning achievement of one of its own – Adam Schildmeier, PE.
Adam was awarded the highly esteemed and sought-after title of FES Treasure Coast Chapter Engineer of the Year at the recent 2024 FES Treasure Coast E-Week Banquet in Palm City, Florida. The annual event, which coincides with Engineers Week, serves as a momentous occasion to acknowledge the outstanding efforts of professionals across the engineering landscape.
The FES Treasure Coast Chapter, representing Okeechobee, St. Lucie, Highlands, and Martin counties, came together at the banquet to celebrate their shared commitment to developing sustainable and effective solutions for the region’s infrastructure challenges.
Adam, originally from Indiana and holding a Degree in Civil Engineering from Purdue University, has provided invaluable contributions to WGI’s Civil Engineering team for nearly a decade. Currently serving as the Civil Market Leader in the West Palm Beach, FL, office, Adam’s career is highlighted with over 20 years of civil engineering experience within the Treasure Coast region. His enduring impact on the community through his work serves as a true testament to his commitment to excellence.
Colleague Brett Oldford spoke glowingly of Adam, stating,
“Adam’s positive attitude, ability to collaborate effectively, and dedication to the profession of engineering are a credit to his passion for his work and the profession as a whole. Adam’s contributions extend beyond professional competence, encompassing qualities that inspire and elevate those around him.”
Adding to the narrative of his success, it’s noteworthy that Adam was also previously honored as the recipient of the 2010 FES Treasure Coast Chapter Young Engineer of the Year. With this early recognition serving as a testament to the lasting commitment he has demonstrated throughout his illustrious career.
Nominated by the 2023 award winner, Adam’s selection as the Engineer of the Year for 2024 speaks not only to his recent accomplishments but also to his significant impact over two decades in the region. Selected by his peers from the FES Treasure Coast Chapter, Adam emerged as the standout candidate among a group of well-deserving nominees.
The Engineer of the Year award is a distinction bestowed upon individuals who have demonstrated consistent excellence over an extended period or outstanding achievements in a shorter timeframe. The ideal candidate possesses a well-rounded record of accomplishment in education, employment, and professional and public service activities – criteria that Adam undoubtedly fulfills.
As the recipient of this prestigious chapter award, Adam Schildmeier is now in the running for the coveted 2024 FES Engineer of the Year statewide award. This recognition not only crowns his individual achievements but also highlights the collective success of the West Palm Beach Civil Department and WGI’s continued commitment to fostering excellence in the engineering profession.
As Adam advances to vie for the statewide honor, WGI extends heartfelt congratulations to him and gratitude to all professionals shaping the landscape of engineering.
The 2024 FES Treasure Coast E-Week Banquet not only commemorated exceptional achievements but also served as a source of inspiration, fostering renewed enthusiasm and commitment within the engineering community. The entire WGI team eagerly anticipates the outcome of the statewide competition, confident that Adam’s dedication and expertise will continue to shine on a broader stage.
