Since 1984, the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS) has designated a week each year as National Surveyors Week (NSW), a time to honor the indispensable work carried out by geospatial professionals across the nation.
At WGI, we are proud to celebrate the expertise and dedication of our Geospatial and Land Surveying team during this special occasion.
Surveyors play a crucial role as the first on-site presence for any new project, meticulously mapping the boundaries of roadways, bridges, structures, and even subaqueous piping & structures.
WGI’s Geospatial Experts excel in this foundational stage, using cutting-edge technologies and innovative data collection methods to provide clients with accurate and meaningful data.
Our surveying professionals remain at the forefront of the geospatial community, embracing the latest technologies and methods.
WGI’s Geospatial and Land Surveying team is equipped with state-of-the-art tools, including lidar-equipped aerial drones and mobile lidar systems attached to vehicles, individuals, or fixed-wing aircraft. These enable us to collect more accurate and robust data and, in turn, ensure greater project success.
To further the theme of NSW and promote awareness of the surveying and geospatial professions, WGI actively engages with the future generation of land surveyors and aspiring engineers.
Our experts participate in events such as Construction Career Days and sponsor educational exhibitions such as Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Demonstrations. By investing in outreach and education, WGI contributes to the development of the next great generation of dynamic and innovative geospatial professionals.
Surveying has a rich history dating back to ancient Egypt and has even played a crucial role in the westward expansion of the United States in the 19th century. Some of our nation’s early leaders, including George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and Thomas Jefferson, were also surveyors.
WGI acknowledges and values the surveying profession’s historical significance, recognizing its enduring impact on shaping the world today.
As National Surveyors Week unfolds, WGI extends its deepest appreciation to all surveying and geospatial professionals for their outstanding contributions to our company vision and the communities in which we live, work, and play.
Their commitment to generating higher-quality data, collected safely, in less time, and at a lower cost, is instrumental in driving the success of our projects across the nation.
WGI stands alongside the NSPS in honoring National Surveyors Week, recognizing the tireless efforts of geospatial professionals who serve as the backbone of every successful project.
To those seeking top-tier geospatial expertise, we invite you to contact our Geospatial Experts at WGI for data that exceeds even the highest of expectations.
