The FDOT District 6 awarded WGI this five-year districtwide contract for two consecutive terms based on outstanding performance. Our in-house and external team serve as a direct extension of FDOT staff and provides environmental permitting support and miscellaneous services to the FDOT District 6 Drainage and Structures Office under the Environmental Permits and NPDES Coordinators and District Drainage Engineer.

WGI provides peer reviews on technical documentation and engineering plans during the planning/feasibility, design/permitting, and construction/compliance phases and advises on project schedule milestones, NEPA/funding, and permitting/compliance requirements for transportation projects falling in Miami-Dade and Monroe counties, including LAP projects. Our team of biologists and experts provides natural resource and benthic survey field reviews (wetlands, surface waters, mangroves, seagrass, coral), avoidance and minimization recommendations, wetland functional and habitat assessments, qualitative and quantitative impact analysis, compensatory mitigation and monitoring planning, and local, state, and federal environmental and stormwater permitting streamlined with production and letting schedules and in support of the 5-year work program.

This includes representing FDOT at interagency coordination meetings, public forums, and kick-off, phase review, and progress meetings throughout the life of the project and close inter-departmental coordination with the FDOT maintenance, utilities, legal, landscaping, GIS, right-of-way, construction, internal design, drainage and structures, plans processing, and environmental management, planning, and landscaping discipline leads.
