In support of a master plan for the West Palm Beach downtown waterfront “Your Waterfront. Your Way.”, WGI prepared a comprehensive report of economic conditions, demographics, and visitor foot traffic. The City of West Palm Beach enlisted the help of WGI after a previous consultant did not meet the expectations of the project. This report on “Your Waterfront. Your Way.” outlines the community visioning process and recommendations for the West Palm Beach downtown waterfront. aimed to engage residents, businesses, and visitors in shaping a unified vision for the waterfront between the Flagler Memorial Bridge and the Royal Park Bridge.
WGI collected, reviewed, and analyzed data from a variety of sources to identify trends, patterns, and insights relevant to the project objectives. Our team sourced data from the US Census Bureau, Placer.AI, and ESRI. We also produced maps, exhibits, and data presentations in various formats to communicate findings and support the decision-making process. Our work also included a set of preliminary planning and programming suggestions that informed and aligned with the overall project objectives.
Analysis of economic conditions and foot traffic data provided key insights into visitor patterns and behaviors. This data, alongside the city-collected survey and community/stakeholder feedback, highlighted the need for improved access, diverse programming, enhanced physical design, and effective stewardship.
