WGI provided structural design services for the Lake Worth Sand Transfer Plant. The plant moves sand that builds upon the north side of the inlet to the sand-starved beach on the south side. Current improvements include a new 450 horsepower electric engine to replace the old diesel engine, marine doors, impact windows, and 18-inch thick poured concrete walls to protect the plant from the harsh marine environment.
