For this edition of the “Intern Experience”, we check in on three of our interns who took advantage of some great opportunities to gain on-the-job experience!
Meet Nathaniel Auld, a Structural Engineering Intern in our West Palm Beach office. Nathaniel was recently on a site visit to the Ocean Reef Club “Ocean Room” in Key Largo where he observed and analyzed steel structural columns for cross-sectional integrity and overall quality. He also observed progress on additions to wooden trusses (some can be seen in the photo) on the roof.
Nathaniel said,
“It was extraordinarily hot since we were doing work in the middle of the day with no air conditioner. It was like an oven in that building, I still had an incredible time!”
Meet Christian Ivey, a Structural Intern in our Jacksonville office. Christian is hard at work creating a rebar list for the I-10 widening project.
Meet Georgia Brooks, a Civil Intern in our West Palm Beach office. Georgia was on the sand dunes of Delray Beach with WGI’s Director, Environmental Services, John Abbott as they navigated and flagged sea grapes to identify recently planted native vegetation that needed to be protected during the removal process.
