Attendees indulged in key discussion topics such as the relevant code sections that guide the design of a high-rise, structural shape efficiencies, building aerodynamics, and structural feasibility based on the height of the structure.
In this AIA Continuing Education Course, attendees learned about the following:
- What defines a “High-Rise” structure
- How to identify relevant code sections to guide design
- The feasibility of structural systems at different heights
- Structural shape efficiencies and building aerodynamic shape efficiencies
- The importance of wind tunnel tests
- Limitations of a code-only based approach
- Dynamic analysis and building motion.
