Expanding the Dutch Bros Legacy

Dutch Bros Coffee, better known for its unique blend of coffee and community, has officially made its mark in the heart of Texas.

WGI has actively engaged in delivering a Texas-sized Dutch Bros experience with new locations in the City of Seguin, New Braunfels, and San Marcos. The far-reaching expansion showcases the iconic Dutch Bros brand, with each compact site requiring innovative design solutions to seamlessly integrate operational needs while still meeting stringent jurisdictional requirements.

Design Challenges and Solutions

Working on sites sized 1 acre or less, WGI faced the challenge of balancing Dutch Bros’ operational requirements with local regulations.

From customer vehicle circulation to team member functions, every aspect of each site required meticulous planning. The design process involved creative solutions for onsite detention, water quality, and tree preservation, ensuring compliance with jurisdictional standards while maintaining the distinctive Dutch Bros aesthetic.

Navigating Regulatory Hurdles

The journey from concept to reality has involved navigation through a myriad of regulatory requirements.

WGI took charge of managing onsite detention design, water quality design and permitting with the Texas Commission of Environmental Quality (TCEQ), access and driveway permitting with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), and traffic engineering to ensure efficient drive-thru queueing.

Opening the Gates of Dutch Bros in Seguin, TX
