Billings Park II was originally designed by WGI in the 1970s. After various renovations, the structure was expanded both vertically and horizontally to augment the city’s parking inventory and meet increased parking demand due to downtown redevelopment. The six-level horizontal addition accommodates public parking, as well as a drive-through bank on the ground floor. The existing structure was also completely restored with upgrades to the stairs and elevators. This project received the International Parking Institute (IPI) Award of Merit.
• 6-level horizontal and 1-level vertical expansion constructed of post-tensioned concrete slabs and beams
• Expanded parking levels are clad with architectural metal panels to satisfy the openness and life safety criteria
• Stair tower is constructed of cantilevered cast-in-place concrete with a glass curtain wall to increase the visibility of the stairway
