The Fifth Third Center Parking Garage was initially constructed in 1963. The original garage structure consisted of one level below grade and three elevated levels. A fourth level was added to the garage in 1991 when the construction of the adjacent office tower. The basement level consists of a concrete slab-on-grade. The first, second, and third-floor levels are constructed of cast-in-place concrete utilizing a one-way pan-joist system. The third level structure differs from the first and second levels due to the addition of a waterproofing membrane with a topping slab above. The fourth/roof level is constructed of a post-tensioned flat plat slab with drop panels at the columns. 

WGI performed a condition survey of the parking garage to review the garage’s condition and make recommendations for its repair and maintenance over the next ten years. Our review focused on identifying deterioration and damage to the concrete structure and waterproofing systems. WGI was subsequently retained to perform design, bidding, and construction administration services for the implementation of recommended immediate repairs at the garage.
