Millor Hall is a three-story residence hall, constructed in 1981, on the John Carroll University Campus in University Heights, Ohio. The building’s exterior walls are clad with clay brick masonry, a concrete masonry backup, and limestone accents consisting of copings, window heads and jambs, and water-table.
WGI performed a condition survey and evaluation of the exterior walls at Millor Hall to identify repair needs. We observed spalled and cracked brick masonry, compressed expansion joints, and displaced coping stones due to excessive moisture accumulation resulting from through-wall flashing and cavity deficiencies within the exterior brick masonry walls. WGI produced a report with recommended repairs to the exterior walls and the probable repair cost’s associated opinion.
WGI was subsequently retained to perform design, bidding, and construction administration services for immediate façade repairs, including flashing and brick masonry replacement. The project is currently under construction.
