WGI is providing structural engineering services for this new 16,000-square-foot physical therapy and fitness center. The facility provides outpatient rehabilitation therapy for patients with sports and work-related injuries, acute back and neck pain, and following various major and minor surgeries, including orthopedic and neurosurgery. Many patients continue their exercise program in Lott’s fitness center following physical therapy.
The building is constructed of all perimeter-load-bearing concrete masonry with joist and joist girders. The facility has several large openings in the load-bearing concrete masonry. The use a joist and joist girders allow for a clean and clear floor plan, with minimal use of columns.
