WGI is proud to partner with the City of San Antonio in revitalizing Monterrey Park, a beloved community park. The park encompasses 51 acres, providing several amenities and recreational outlets for the community, including a pool, playground, pickleball courts, and sports fields. This park revitalization improves the park’s accessibility, sustainability, and functionality for the local community to enjoy.
Through the initial detailed site analysis, WGI redefined the scope to fit the parks and community’s needs best. WGI’s work on this project will include providing a new public restroom and other amenities, including drinking fountains and benches, enhancing accessibility, upgrading lighting, and tree planting and irrigation design. Services include project management, landscape architecture, community engagement, civil engineering, and surveying. One of the most vital aspects of the design approach was engaging the community via public meetings and working with local stakeholders and neighborhoods in the surrounding area. By actively listening to those invested in the park’s revitalization, WGI ensures the park’s upgrades align with the community’s needs and vision of the park.
